By increasing Faster Block Rate you will lower the time for the block animation, that it takes to effectively Block. |
Faster Block Rate is a Stat in Diablo 2. Faster Block Rate is represented in percentage, and it determines the speed of the blocking animation you are character does. A full blocking animation is required to make a successful block. By increasing the Faster Block Rate, the blocking animation time will decrease, meaning that your character will block quicker. Faster Block Rate can be modified equiping certain items.
Base Block Parameter
This parameter is required to calculate the Block Rate. The Base Block Parameter for each character is indicated below:
Effective Block Rate
The Faster Block Rate can be used to calculate the Effective Block Rate as follows:
Faster Block Rate × 120
Faster Block Rate + 120
+ (HS) = EBR (Rounded Down)
EBR is Effective Block Rate and HS equals to 50 when wielding the Holy Shield. Otherwise, HS = 0.
Block Rate in Frames
Block Rate in Frames can be calculated as follows:
256 × Base Parameter /
Block Animation Speed Value × (50 + EBR)
100
(Rounded Down)
= Block Rate in Frames
(Rounded Up)
This means, as Faster Block Rate increases, the Block Rate decreases.
Even though, graphically, the rendered FPS (Frames per Second) are not limited, other than by the power of your console/gpu, and the FPS can reach high values, the combat events in Diablo 2 Resurrected are set to work as if the game worked at 25 FPS. This means that the Block Rate in Frames can only be affected by the Faster Block Rate at certain Breakpoints. So you will not gain any advantage or disadvantage by modifying your Faster Block Rate until you reach those Breakpoints.
Faster Block Rate Breakpoints
Each Class has different Faster Block Rate Breakpoints depending on their class and their form. The Holy Shield has independent Breakpoints. Here's a list of all the Faster Block Rate Breakpoints and the corresponding Block Rate in Frames.
