Necromancer Builds for Diablo 2 covers many popular and niche builds for the Necromancer, one of the seven available Classes in the game. Necromancer Builds in Diablo 2 usually use one of three Skill Lines to focus on, and those are: Curses, Poison and Bone Spells, and Necromancer Summoning Skills. Builds can of course dip into other Skill Lines, but they will usually focus around 1 or 2 Skills, increasing other Skills in those Skill Trees, since doing so generally passively increases the effectiveness of the main Skill you are focusing on.
Best Diablo 2 Necromancer Builds
- Summoner Necro - Summons Skeletons and Golems to overwhelm enemies, using their own corpses against them.
- Bone Necro - Uses Bone Spear and Bone Wall to destroy enemies at range.
- Poison Nova Necro - An AoE focused Build that can wipe out tons of enemies at once.
Necromancer Builds for Diablo 2 Resurrected
The Best Necromancer Builds in Diablo 2 Resurrected. These Necromancer Builds are extremely relevant in 2021, and perfect for your D2 Resurrected experience. Starting with our very own Bone Necromancer Build, which is a Bone and Poison Spell Necromancer that focuses on using Bone Spear and Bone Wall to keep enemies away, while ranging them down. This Build is a very good Leveling Necromancer Build, as it works from relatively early on in the game, and can carry you through Normal with ease. If you're new to playing Necromancer then this is a great choice for you!
Bone Necromancer Build | Bone Acolyte
The Bone Acolyte Necromancer uses a combination of Bone Spells, Summons and Curses to destroy its Enemies. You'll be using Bone Spear as your main way to deal damage, and the Iron Maiden curse combined with the Clay Golem to deal with Bosses and melee Enemies. This Necromancer Build is very safe to play and will allow you to easily clear all Normal difficulty bosses without many issues, making it a perfect starter build for Diablo 2 Resurrected newcomers.
It is important to note that, while very powerful during the beginning of the game, this build will only remain viable through the first difficulty (Normal) and up to around Lvl 40. You can still run through Nightmare difficulty if you insist, but I wouldn't recommend it, as you'll find much better options at that point in the game.
If you are a new player I strongly recommend you to save the respec that you get from completing the first mission, called Den of Evil. If you do, you'll be able to talk to Akara and respec your character into a different build once you reach Nightmare difficulty.

Summoner Necromancer Build
The Summoner Necromancer conjures skeletons and resurrects corpses to fight against the forces of evil. You’ll be using the Raise Skeleton, Clay Golem and Revive to conjure your minions, Corpse Explosion to deal AoE damage and Decrepify, Amplify Damage and Life Tap to help your minions during fights. While playing as a Summoner, you’ll send your minions to the front to do the hack and slash while you use the Corpse Explosion spell and Curses to aid them.
Having a Hellfire Torch and an Annihilus will greatly reduce your stat investment into Strength. These unique charms provide between +10-20 to all Attributes and +10-20 to all Elemental Resistances. Having both in your inventory will save you between 20 and 40 stats points that you can spend into Vitality greatly increasing your health pool. The additional passive resistances will also allow you to depend less on +All Resistances equipment, opening up more options.
If you don’t have a Hellfire Torch or an Annihilus yet, I strongly recommend that you get them as soon as you can. Perfect rolled ones are very expensive, but you can get bad rolled ones for very affordable prices. Make sure to get a low roll when you are starting off and then upgrade it when you have enough money.
