Shrines in Diablo 2 features the various types of Upgrade Shrines that players can friends through the world of Sanctuary. Most shrines will provide a temporary boost to the player while others provide an immediate effect. Shrine effects can not be stacked, therefore if the player activates a second Shrine while under the effect of another, the second overrides the effect of the first. Shrines can be found scattered throughout Sanctuary. Some Shrines recharge after a period of time, so they can be used again if the player approach it and clock on in it again.

Wells

Along with Shrines, players can also find Wells which can be used to recover 50% of maximum Health, Mana, and Stamina. Furthermore, Wells can remove Poison and Curses. Well's effects apply on both the Hero and his or her companions.

Tmporarily increases Lightning Resistance by 75% 144 Seconds 5 Minutes

Resist Poison Shrine

Temporarily increases Poison Resistance by 75% 144 Seconds 5 Minutes

Skill Shrine

Temporarily adds 2 levels to all Skills 96 Seconds 5 minutes

Stamina Shrine

Temporarily grants unlimited Stamina to our Hero. 192 Seconds 5 Minutes

Experience Shrine

Temporarily increases by 50% the experience obtained from killing Enemies 144 Seconds Can not be used again

Refilling Shrine

Fully restores your Health and Mana N/A 2 Minutes

Health Shrine

Fully restores our Hero's Health N/A 2 Minutes

Mana Shrine

Fully restores our Hero's Mana N/A 2 Minutes

Portal Shrine

Creates a portal to current Act's Main Town N/A Can not be used again.

Fire Shrine

Creates a burst of Fireballs that reduces Hit Points by 50% on those hit by a Fireball. Reduction affects both characters and enemies. N/A Can not be used again

Explosive Shrine

Throws Exploding Potions in all directions damaging enemies and drops 5-10 Exploding Potions. N/A Can not be used again

Poison Shrine

Creates a Poison cloud that harms Enemies within the cloud and drops 5-10 Choking Gas Potions. N/A Can not be used again.

Monster Shrine

Turns the closest monster enemy into a Unique or Champion Monster. N/A Can not be used again.

Gem Shrine

Randomly upgrades one Gem or Skull from your inventory. If there is no gem in the inventory, then it drops a chipped Gem or chipped Skull. N/A Can not be used again.
