The Search for Cain is an Act I Quest in Diablo 2. The Search for Cain can be acquired by talking to Akara after killing Blood Raven or by encountering the Tree of Inifuss. Quests can be acquired by talking to NPCs, reading books or by completing other Quests.
It is clear that we are facing an Evil difficult to comprehend, let alone combat. There is only one Horadrim Sage, schooled in the most arcane history and lore, who could help us... his name is Deckard Cain. You must travel to Tristram. I pray that he still lives.
The Search for Cain Walkthrough
- After Akara gives you this quest, go to the Dark Wood and find the Tree of Inifuss. Take the Scroll of Inifuss, then go back to the Rogue Encampment and give it to Akara, so she can translate the runes. Next, go to Stony Field and locate the Cairn Stones. Touch them in the correct order by using the Scroll of Inifuss as a guide. Once the portal is open, use it to travel to Tristram. Go to the well in the center of Tristram to find Deckard Cain and rescue him.
